ProgettoMondo Mlal is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in the national and international voluntary sector.
Established in 1966, with its head office in Verona, it promotes and supports voluntary work in Latin America and in Africa, stimulating and reinforcing the volunteers on the ground.
Amazonia and the indigenous peoples, the giant cities and the favelas, agricultural reforms and self-sufficieny in food, basic medicine and small-scale production, child workers and street children, the most elementary human rights, these are the issues and the areas in which ProgettoMondo Mlal is active.
Issues and areas built up together with local partners in a joint strategic effort to develop individual activities aimed at promoting the process of development and the fight against poverty.
The common denominator of the more than 330 projects in 27 Countries, either already completed or still in progress, is the training of the local people and the creation of a network of relations to guarantee sustainability.
In Italy, ProgettoMondo Mlal promotes meetings and exchanges between different cultures. Through activities of information and education for peace and development, organized into training courses, debates, meetings, seminars, solidarity campaigns and training camps , the aim is to involve civil society in general, communities, associations and schools.
All this activity is possible thanks to the commitment of the volunteers, the support of private individuals and contributions from various local and international bodies who choose to add a new form of solidarity to their reputation for administrative efficiency.
Since 1972 ProgettoMondo Mlal has been recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as suitable to conduct Development Programmes (Law no. 49 dated 1987).
In its 43 years of experience, it has sent 880 volunteers to America and Africa.
In 1992 ProgettoMondo Mlal was awarded the Veneto Region Peace Prize.
It is a member of the Italian Federation of International Voluntary Associations (FOCSIV), the Assembly of Italian NGOs and the Permanent Forum of the Third Sector.
