NEWS AND UPDATES
Our
work both in Italy
and abroad is accompanied by ProgettoMondo Mlal’s
communication activity. The aim is to provide a bridge with Italy, to provide
information about the project and the work and commitment of individual
voluntary workers to members,
supporters, institutions, the media and funding bodies. Our Communication
Department has a Press Office which takes care of media relations, a dedicated
operator to look after the website and a Solidarity Department which more
specifically follows up the requests and expectations of our supporters. The
task of coordinating and preparing ProgettoMondo’s Communication is carried out
by a professional journalist who acts as intermediary in establishing the most
direct and exhaustive links between the world of cooperation and the world of
information, and strives to spread as far as possible outside an elite sector
what can and must be a message for all. In particular, the intention is to make
the ProgettoMondo Mlal message more widely known and as far as possible
accessible to all.

Communications currently publishes 2 newsletters:
Lettera
agli Amici on-line , containing articles by our workers abroad and in Italy Mlal, its founder and first president Oberti asked
the first group of departing volunteers to write a letter to their friends
staying behind in Italy to keep as many people as possible informed, aware and
involved in the work being done in Latin America. “Lettera agli Amici” is sent out to a mailing
list of institutions, funding providers,
interested parties and supporters, about 2,000 people in all. To join the mailing

subjects concerning the Countries where we operate or on recent developments in
the projects they are working on. It also features case histories and personal
accounts describing the context and the communities with which we operate. The
name of the publication is of historical importance for us because it goes back
to 40 years ago when, following the establishment of
Primo Piano is a
newsletter intended more for the inside of the Organization. In other words designed and
written for ProgettoMondo Mlal members. Each
issue deals with a theme of topical relevance to the Organization’s work, provides
points for discussion, and gives the positions and opinions of the main
protagonists of the internal debate. Primo Piano was first published in 2006.
ProgettoMondo Mlal Web. In order to facilitate communication with
public opinion in general,
ProgettoMondo Mlal is also present on social networks such as Facebook,
YouTube and Flickr, and has
also launched a Blog where short news items are published about
the work of the association, and more generally about conditions in the
countries where ProgettoMondo Mlal is present.

Lastly, another
communication tool, designed more specifically for supporters and funding
providers, is the twice-yearly Project newsletter. In June and December,
supporters who have regularly furnished their personal details to the Organization,
receive by ordinary mail a 4-page newsletter with updates on work in progress, the
latest news and upcoming deadlines. To request it, write to sostegno@mlal.org
This newsletter is
frequently accompanied by the updated card of the individual long distance
support beneficiary, with news about his/her studies or professional training.
