WORLD: What we offer:
In Europe, through training,
education, information and awareness-raising, and in the Developing Countries through direct support for local development
processes, ProgettoMondo Mlal has
tested in every case with those directly concerned the different ways of becoming a useful concrete instrument in the
democratization processes. In the firm belief that globalization of the economy
goes hand in hand with the globalization of human rights and of the
opportunities for peoples to become protagonists.
ProgettoMondo Mlal has therefore chosen to act not only as an agent for change
but above all as a vehicle for exchanges
among peoples and to provide an opportunity for “cointeressenza”
(“profit-sharing”) for the
creation of new enterprises and future alliances. These
proposals are interpreted by the international volunteers and cooperators not only through their presence abroad but
also by acting as a “natural bridge” between cultures for the growth of Italian civil society and the collective
conscience. The more than 850 Mlal cooperators
get their strength above all from
working alongside their respective local and Italian partners: indeed partnership is another ProgettoMondo Mlal
key word, the leitmotiv of all its activities and the starting point for all
those projects aimed at strengthening
the local skills of groups or institutions in order to exert a greater
influence over the improvement of development processes within the community.
For if the intervention is part of local
development policies, this facilitates synergies, possible multiplier
effects and the spread of best practices. Whether within the context of a
food/agriculture project, or a town-planning, economic or educational project, ProgettoMondo Mlal always adds to
the word “development” the adjective sustainable. This means
that care is always taken to ensure that each development proposal is able to
stand on its own feet and has a future. ProgettoMondo Mlal is active in a
number of different thematic areas: defence of human
rights and social promotion (with particular focus on minorities and
womens’ issues); environmental protection and food safety; eco-sustainable agricultural development; professional
training, business startup and job creation; protection of children at risk
and defence of the right to education of children and teenagers. The places where
ProgettoMondo Mlal works are Latin America, North, Sub-Saharan and Southern
Africa and, as a consequence, the whole
of Italy and Europe.
